Can I host events and sell tickets on Kadens?

Becoming an organizer is free, and you sell tickets through Stripe. Kadens charges a small per-ticket fee on paid tickets (for example 0.50 EUR plus 1.25% per ticket in euros), passed to the buyer by default or absorbed by you. Free tickets carry no fee.

What is the difference between an event and an edition?

An event is the container. An edition is a specific dated instance with its own dates, registration window, capacity, location, and ticket types. For example, Bachata Geneva Festival is the event, and its 2026 edition is one instance with its own dates and tickets.

What ticket types and prices can I offer?

Full Pass, Day Pass, Workshop Only, and Party Only. Each type can have several ordered price tiers, each with its own date window and optional capacity, so an early-bird tier sells out or expires and the next one takes over.

How do attendees buy a ticket?

Through Stripe checkout. On success the ticket is issued and gives access to the edition.

Can I make people apply before they attend?

Yes. Set the edition to require an application form. Attendees apply, and you approve, reject, or waitlist them.

Yes. The applications view shows paid or unpaid status, amount, and date for each applicant.

Yes. Editions can be published, unpublished, cancelled, or completed. Cancelled or completed editions stop accepting application approvals.

How do I refund a ticket?

As the organizer you refund specific tickets within an order, not just the whole order. Paid tickets are refunded through your connected Stripe account, free tickets are simply cancelled, and Kadens keeps its platform fee on refunds.

What happens if a ticket type sells out?

Each ticket type and price tier can have a capacity. Once it is reached the option shows as sold out and cannot be bought, while options with no capacity stay unlimited. Capacity is re-checked with a lock at payment, so the last spot cannot be oversold.

Can I limit how many tickets one person buys?

Yes. Each ticket type has an optional per-buyer limit that counts tickets the buyer already holds. The purchase is blocked if it would go over. Leave it unset for no limit.

What does an attendee get after buying a ticket?

Each ticket gets a unique number and a QR code, shown on the confirmation screen and under My Tickets, with a downloadable PDF. The organizer scans the QR to check the attendee in.

Can an attendee transfer a ticket to someone else?

Accepted Answer

Yes. A valid ticket can be transferred to another person, which records the change. Used or cancelled tickets cannot be transferred, and free tickets stay with the person who earned them.

Can I run a free event or offer free tickets?

Accepted Answer

Yes. A ticket priced at zero shows as Free, and the buyer claims it directly instead of paying. Refunding a free ticket simply cancels it, with no Stripe refund involved.

Can I run the same event again on another date?

Yes. An event can hold several editions, each with its own dates, capacity, and tickets. Add one from the events calendar, or duplicate an existing edition and choose what to copy.
